9th grade: Transit ion/Identify the Plan
- Articulation with feeder schools and course selection and placement
- Parent Night: Transition and Support
- Meet individually with struggling students
- Use Bridges computer software program to help students explore potential careers related to their interests
10th grade: Explore the Plan
- Review Progress and create an academic plan, Review exploration activities done in the 9th grade
- Present to classes on topics such as graduation requirements, post-high school options and the California community college system and UC/CSU requirements
- Use Choices computer software program to explore possible college majors as they relate to interests
- Academic Review and Plan Parent Night covering topics such as graduation requirements and college information. Give families student generated 4-year plan and portfolio with Life After High School booklet
11th grade: Research and Develop the Plan
- Classroom presentations: review graduation requirements, discuss college information, testing dates and other post-high school options
- Individual meetings with students to help develop their plan and identify different tools (internet, College/Career Center, etc) to do research
- Parent Night to help families support students in their search
12th grade: Execute the plan
- Classroom Presentations: Time to execute your plan
- College Application Workshop for Students
- Letter of Recommendation Workshop
- College/Career Center classroom visits
- Articulation with college representatives - two and four-year schools
- Parent Night on the College Application Process
- SMUHSD Financial Aid Night
- SMUHSD College Fair
