CCS Playoffs

Message from Coach DeRosa

"Wow, what a week of soccer.  A dramatic last second win over the 6th seeded Saratoga Falcons in the first round CCS game on Wednesday.  Then on Saturday, in CCS Quarterfinal game vs the 3rd seeded Gilroy Mustangs, and with the game going to PK's to determine a winner, our Lady Panthers won the game.  Next up, a Semifinal game on Wednesday, 4:30 vs the 2nd seeded St. Francis Lancers, on our home field.  Best of Luck Ladies and GO PANTHERS!!"

Published in the San Mateo Daily Journal on Mon, 2.25.13

"Burlingame's magical run as the No. 11 seed in Division II continues with a 4-3 penalty kick shootout win.

"The girls went into the game extremely motivated after the emotional win over Saratoga." said Burlingame head coach Phillip De Rosa. "We played extremely well. It was a deserving win. I'm ecstatic and could not be prouder of the way we played. It's 100 percent heart. They just don't stop. It's unrelenting."

The Panthers take on No. 2 St. Francis next. The Lancers will be tough but in a nice little advantage, the game is scheduled for 4:30, Wednesday on Burlingame's home turf."

"Girls Soccer: Division II:

No. 11 Burlingame pulled off a stunning upset of No. 6 Saratoga.  The Panthers were down 1-0 at the half and without forward Alexis Prieto (hurt in second half).  In came sophomore substitute Ashley Harper who not only equalized but scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time with a tick or two left on the referee's watch.

"Amazing, simply amazing," said Burlingame head coach Phillip De Rosa.

Lena Mendelson and Rachel Byrd assisted on the goals."
