The Burlingame High School Excellence Fund was established in 1982, when public school funding began to decline and parents were asked to make a monetary contribution to supplement the school budget. The Excellence Fund is now a recognized tradition at BHS and enables funding of critical programs and needs including:

• Subsidizing 5 additional English and/or Math sections so that class size can be reduced from approximately 34 to 25 students per class

• Student programs: After-School Academic Center, Freshman Buddies Program, Career Center EXPLORE Program, PAWS Community Service Program, College and Career Counseling

• BHS communication network: online Highlights monthly newsletter, Buzz Book student directory, NewsAlerts email notifications, SchoolLoop online communication system

• Facilities upgrades, musical instruments, industrial technology equipment

• Fundamental Supplies: computers, software, science equipment and books

• Bi-Annual Teacher stipends for additional classroom supplies and project support

• Senior Awards and graduation ceremony costs

Thanks to the support of our families, these fundraising efforts positively impacted every department at BHS and enriched the learning environment for your student.

Please help us reach our 2010-2011 goal of $300,000 and 100% family participation with your donation. While the recommended donation is $500, each dollar is a sincerely appreciated gift and we encourage you to donate at a level comfortable for your budget.
